Staging an encounter between East and West, the dial of these creations revisits symbols embedded in Japanese culture through Grand Feu enamel skills mastered by a specialised artisan within the Manufacture. The meticulous finishing of the L.U.C Quattro Spirit Enso, L.U.C Quattro Spirit Tattered Fan and L.U.C Quattro Spirit Meditating Daruma have earned them recognition symbolised by the Poinçon de Genève hallmark. Equipped with the four barrels characterising the exclusive Chopard Quattro technology offering an up to eight-day power reserve, L.U.C Calibre 98.06-L places these horological masterpieces among the rare jumping-hour watches endowed with such autonomy. The dial of the third L.U.C Quattro Spirit limited edition draws inspiration from an iconic work by the courtier and painter Konoe Nobutada (1565–1614), entitled Daruma in Meditation. This ink painting executed in a minimalist style depicts a legendary monk named Daruma who was the founder of Zen Buddhism. Having meditated facing a wall for nine years, Daruma embodies the quest for spiritual awakening, resilience and inner balance. His round silhouette with no arms or legs has become a universal symbol of perseverance: “Fall seven times, get up eight”. Echoing this figure in a minimalist and deeply spiritual interpretation, and faithful to the philosophy of letting go, the dial is a tribute to Daruma's quiet strength and the art of controlled movement, resonating as an invitation to contemplation.
